![]() Today all my Windows 11 22h2 Enterprise imaged desktops had Teams auto install itself. who is apple to start policing / restricting internet traffic outside their devices? whats next apple? (im guessing iOS HS is running nat/fw and they decided to block pptp's tcp port- pathetic!) i get dropping pptp in your iOS, but trying to control the world/stuff outside your OS is really sad/insulting on apples part. also its supported on older OSs when the others require an app or addonĪll that said, it is ridiculous that apple is blocking pptp in their hotspot SW. (however you should be trying to move to using ipsec/l2tp or sstp or openvpn, but most ppl like pptp as its often the "easeist" to traverse nat/firewalls, so it will work at various remote locations when the others may have issues, atleaste when compared to ipsec/l2tp)). also provided you use a long username and pass, it does still take a bit of work to crack that auth / auth encryption (its not as easy as WEP cracking, as an example). the issue w pptp is that the encryption used for the auth is partially cracked, thus its easier than it should be to crack the auth info provided that info/handshake is captured by an actor. Fyi, pptp passwords are generally (almost always) NOT sent in clear text.
